My speech buddy offers a free 15-minute initial phone consultation to discuss your child’s needs and to ascertain if your child requires a speech and language therapy assessment.
Assessments
- I am able to see clients in their home for their assessment.
- The assessments are both formal and informal depending on the age and needs of the child.
- A full case history will be taken from the parent / carer. Further information may be obtained from the child’s school / nursery setting.
- An initial assessment is usually between 60 – 90 minutes.
- A review assessment is usually between 30 – 45 minutes.
- Following an initial assessment, a detailed report will be written along with advice and recommendations if appropriate.
- Verbal feedback is given directly after the assessment.
Parent consultation Session
(FOR PARENTS / CARERS ONLY)
This is a 30-minute telephone call consultation for parents to talk about their child’s speech and language. This may include any of the following:
- Advice and guidance on how to support you child and signposting you to other services.
- Information on typical development.
Schools
My speech buddy also works closely with mainstream schools in Redbridge and Barking and Dagenham to support children who have speech, language and communication difficulties. We offer a range of assessments and screening packages that include reports, targets and advice.
